Being a bit of a massive nerd I’ve amassed a few music videos that I like to watch when I’m in a particular mood.

And just for good measure; a sea shanty.

I spotted this on the BBC news video player today.

I’ve been a fan of Art. Lebedev Studio for a while now ever since I started salivating over their optimus maximus keyboard, but this poster is a bit cheaper, and still pretty beautiful.

This’d be really cool if it had an interface so that people could customise it to match their own personal distraction hierarchy. maybe if i get really bored I’ll do mine.

I’d have to add in my dad wanting to talk about DIY, the sun making it too hot to work in my shed, and nearly falling off my gym ball chair substitute.

I often get asked what it is that I do, and put quite simply, my stuff is about 10% as hardcore as their stuff.

Genomics: From humans to the environment – this was Craig Venter’s talk that he gave for the Lames martin 21st century school at the sheldonian. lots of interesting stuff, and quite easy going considering that it’s about sequencing genomes! here’s his TED talk too
Alan Kay: A powerful idea about teaching ideas – Alan Kay talks a bit about the sort of stuff that Seymour Papert talks about, giving children tools to learn with. a fascinating 20 minutes.

I think that officially makes me a mega geek.

It’s be really interesting to see where an interest in the post human condition will take me if I apply it to some architectural design work… lets find out!

the EMRoS: EPSON Micro Robot System was announced in 1993, and is the kind of thing i’d like to have in my collection of fine art objects in 2093. it’s stunning

you train it by getting it to follow a light source, and then once trained, it can replay the path.
